The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.

Results

  • Cambridgeshire: The byelection in Yaxley and Farcet division held on 21 March was won by Andrew Wood. Liberal Democrat gain from Conservative.
  • Flintshire: The byelection in Brynford and Halkyn ward held on 21 March was won by Fran Lister. Labour gain from Conservative.
  • Knowsley: The byelection in Whitefield ward held on 21 March was won by Brian Johns. Independent hold.
  • Corporation of London: The election of Alderman for Tower ward held at the wadmote on 20 March was won unopposed by the incumbent, Nicholas Lyons.
  • North Kesteven: The byelection in Heckington Rural ward held on 21 March was won by Christine Collard. Conservative hold.

Changes of allegiance

  • Aberdeenshire: Catherine Victor, who was elected for the Scottish National Party, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
  • Basildon: Susanna Caira-Neeson, who was elected for the Labour Party in Lee Chapel North ward, has left the group and is sitting as a non-aligned councillor.
  • Bolton: Derek Bullock, an Independent councillor for Hulton ward, has joined with the Horwich and Blackrod First Independents group so they do not fall behind the Liberal Democrats.
  • Bristol: Jude English, who was elected for the Green Party in Ashley ward, has been suspended from the party and is sitting as an Independent councillor.
  • Conwy: Ros Griffiths-Williams, the sole Green Party councillor who represents Gele and Llanddulas division, has formed a joint Plaid Cymru and Green Party group. As a result her previous partnership with Independent councillor David Carr (Colwyn division) has been broken up and he is sitting as an ungrouped Independent.
  • Fylde: Gail Goodman, an Independent councillor for Ashton ward, has left the Independent group to sit as a non-aligned councillor.
  • Hounslow: Joanna Biddolph, who was elected for the Conservatives in Chiswick Gunnersbury ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
  • Leeds: Wyn Kidger, who was elected for the Morley Borough Independents in Morley South ward, has left the group to sit as an Independent councillor.
  • North Lanarkshire: Angela Campbell, who was elected for the Labour Party in Bellshill ward, has left the party group and is sitting as an Independent councillor.
  • North Yorkshire: Paul Haslam, who was elected for the Conservatives in Bilton and Nidd Gorge division, has left the party and is sitting as an Independent unaffiliated councillor.
  • Somerset: Steve Ashton, who was elected for the Conservatives in Crewkerne division, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.

  • Birmingham: Bournbrook and Selly Park ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Brigid Jones. Term ends 2026.
  • Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole: Canford Cliffs ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor May Haines. Term ends 2027.
  • Breckland: Hermitage ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Mitchell Thurbon. Term ends 2027.
  • Broxtowe: Attenborough and Chilwell East ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Richard Falvey. Term ends 2027.
  • Charnwood: Loughborough East ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Louise Jones. Term ends 2027.
  • Colchester: Greenstead ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Molly Bloomfield. Term ends 2026.
  • Essex: Harlow South East division, after the resignation of Conservative county councillor Eddie Johnson. Term ends 2025.
  • Exeter: Mincinglake and Whipton ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Emma Morse. Her term would have ended in May so no byelection will be held.
  • Gosport: Lee West ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor John Beavis. Term emds 2026.
  • Hackney: De Beauvoir ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Polly Billington. Term ends 2026.
  • Hackney: Hoxton East and Shoreditch ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Steve Race. Term ends 2026.
  • Hart: Fleet East ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Silke Engström. Term ends 2026.
  • Havant: Bedhampton ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor David Guest. His term would have ended in May so there will be no byelection.
  • Ipswich: Priory Heath ward, after the resignation of Labour counbcillor Daniel Maguire. Term ends 2026.
  • Kensington and Chelsea: Norland ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Stuart Graham. Term ends 2026.
  • Lambeth: Streatham Common and Vale ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Tom Rutland. Term ends 2026.
  • Leicestershire: Burbage division, after the resignation of Conservative county councillor Amanda Wright. Term ends 2025.
  • Corporation of London: Farringdon Within ward, after the resignation of Common Councilman Graeme Doshi-Smith. Term ends 2025.
