Durham County Council Independent Group 7 (also includes the Green Party), non-aligned 3, Spennymoor and Tudhoe Independent Group 2. Unitary council covering most of the historic north-eastern county; formerly dominated by mining and still an important manufacturing centre.

Jack McGlenen (Dalton and Dawdon) moved from Reform UK to non-aligned in September 2025. The Liberal Democrats gained Benfieldside from Reform UK at a byelection on 3 July. Michael Ramage (Shildon and Dene Valley) moved from Reform UK to non-aligned in May 2025. Paul Sexton (Chester-le-Street South) moved from Independent to Reform UK in May 2025.
