Birmingham Independent Councillors 7, Harborne and Quinton Independents 3. Chief city of the West Midlands, largest local authority in the country. The city also includes Royal Sutton Coldfield. An engineering and manufacturing city benefiting from being close to the centre of England.

Allens Cross and Lozells have vacant seats (both held by Labour). Ziaul Islam (Newtown) moved from Labour to Birmingham Independent Councillors in January 2026. The Liberal Democrats gained Moseley from Labour at a byelection on 23 October. Four deselected councillors moved from Labour to Independent in October 2025. The Secretary of State has appointed Commissioners to advise and direct the council.
