The government proposes to split the council between new unitary councils of East Norfolk, Greater Norwich and West Norfolk in 2027. Gary Blundell (New Costessey) and Sharon Blundell (Old Costessey) moved from Liberal Democrat to South Norfolk Independent in March/April 2026.
