Independent 6, Wickford Independent 4, ungrouped Independent 1. South Essex new town, also including the older town of Billericay. Manufacturing industries and distribution centres. Has an iconic status arising from the marginality of the constituency in the 1980s.

Reform UK gained a seat from Labour in St Martin’s at a byelection on 17 July, and from Wickford Independents in Wickford Park on 26 June. Ben Westwick (Pitsea South East) moved from Labour to ungrouped Independent in June 2025. The council will move to all-out elections in 2028.
