The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Result
North Yorkshire: The byelection in Eastfield division held on 25 May was won by the outgoing councillor, Tony Randerson, who was re-elected after leaving the Labour Party. He is forming the Social Justice Party.
Peterborough: Gavin Elsey, who was elected for the Conservative Party in Wittering ward, has left the party to join Peterborough First, and is sitting as an Independent councillor.
Caerphilly: Penmaen ward, after the death of Labour councillor Jim Sadler. Term ends 2027.
Ceredigion: Llanfarian ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat county councillor Geraint Wyn Hughes due to work commitments. Term ends 2027.
Herefordshire: Golden Valley South ward, after the death of Independents for Herefordshire councillor Peter Jinman. Term ends 2027.
Rotherham: Dinnington ward, after the disqualification of Independent councillor Charlie Wooding who was elected for the Conservative Party; he has not attended a council meeting for six months. Term ends 2025.
Southwark: Newington ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Alice Macdonald following selection as Parliamentary candidate for Norwich North. Term ends 2026.
Warrington: Poulton North ward, after the death of Labour councillor Diana Friend. Term ends 2025.
Cherwell: Amid much mutual recrimination, the Labour group were unable to come to any agreement with the Progressive Oxfordshire group of Liberal Democrats, Greens and Independents. Accordingly the Conservatives will retain minority control.
East Devon: The Democratic Alliance formed to run the council is made up of the Liberal Democrats, Green Party and some of the Independent councillors.
Rother: There is a cross party alliance running the council, consisting of the Rother Association of Independents, Labour, Liberal Democrats and Green Party.
West Suffolk: The new council administration will be the West Suffolk Working Partnership, involving the Progressive Alliance group of Labour, Green and Liberal Democrats, and the Independents.
Wirral: With support from Conservatives and Liberal Democrats, a Labour-led administration has been elected. Under the committee system some of the vice-chairs will go to other parties.
