Burnley Independent Group 11. East Lancashire mill town in the Pennines; site of the first BNP breakthrough in local elections in 2002, but they have now departed and it is now a Labour/Liberal Democrat battle.

At byelections on 4 November, Independent candidates won Lanehead and Queensgate, succeeding Independents elected for Labour. Jeff Sumner (Rosehill with Burnley Wood) moved from Liberal Democrat to Reform UK in August 2025. Alan Hosker (Hapton with Park) moved from Conservative to Independent in June 2025, to Reform UK in August 2025.
