Independent 12, West Suffolk Independents 6 (who sit with the Green Party in the Independent Group); non-aligned 1. Historic Bury St Edmunds, the London overspill town of Haverhill. Also takes in Newmarket (home of British horseracing) and Mildenhall (including US Air Force bases at Lakenheath and Mildenhall).

At byelections on 6 May, the Conservatives gained Clare Hundon and Kedington, and Lakenheath, from Independents, retained Moreton Hall after an Independent defected to them, and held Southgate, and Whepstead and Wickhambrook. The Green Party held Abbeygate. Max Clarke (St Olaves) moved from Labour to Independent in February 2021.
