West Suffolk

Independents 15 (including West Suffolk Independents 6), Spectrum 3, Independent in Progressive Alliance group (with Labour, Liberal Democrat and Green Party) 1, Historic Bury St Edmunds, the London overspill town of Haverhill. Also takes in Newmarket (home of British horseracing) and Mildenhall (including US Air Force bases at Lakenheath and Mildenhall).

The government proposes to merge the council with parts of Babergh and Mid Suffolk to creat a new unitary Western Suffolk council in 2027. Haverhill West has a vacant seat (held by the Conservatives). The Green Party gained Abbeygate from the Conservatives at a byelection on 7 May.
