Redcar and Cleveland

Independent Group 15, Independent 6, Cleveland Independent Group 4, Teesville Independents 2. Redcar is based on the chemicals industry; the district includes the seaside resort of Saltburn-by-the-Sea, as well as Guisborough, Loftus and the Cleveland Hills.

Guisborough, Hutton and Longbeck wards have byelections on 6 May (all three held by the Conservatives). Four Conservative councillors formed the Cleveland Independent Group in March 2021; Craig Hannaway (Saltburn) moved from Labour to Independent in March 2021. Graham Jeffery (Hutton) moved from Conservative to Independent group in 2021.
