Independent 1. Hertfordshire manufacturing towns, including Ebenezer Howard's Welwyn Garden City which was later designated a new town. Hatfield was previously aircraft manufacturing.

The Secretary of State intends to legislate to postpone the May 2026 election for a year. Welwyn East has a vacant seat (held by the Conservatives). Lucy Musk (Haldens) moved from Labour to Green Party in January 2026. Jill Weston (Howlands) moved from Labour to Independent in August 2025.
