West Oxfordshire

Mostly agricultural area, including small towns of Witney and Chipping Norton (closely associated with the 'Chipping Norton set', most of whom live out of the town). The Conservative group resigned from the party en masse over the Poll Tax in 1990.

The government proposes to divide the council between two unitary councils for Greater Oxford and North Oxfordshire in 2027. The Liberal Democrats held Kidlington West at a byelection on 16 July.
