The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
Leeds: The byelection in Morley South ward held on 12 June was won by Ryan Taylor. Reform UK gain from an Independent elected for Morley Borough Independents.
Mid Suffolk: The byelection in Haughley, Stowupland and Wetherden ward held on 12 June was won by Agnes Watson. Green Party hold.
Nottinghamshire: The election in Mansfield North division, postponed from 1 May to 12 June, was won by Gaynor Mann and David Smith. Reform UK gain seats from Conservative and Labour.
Stroud: The byelection in Severn ward held on 11 June was won by Moya Shannon. Green Party gain from Labour.
Cardiff: Two councillors have left the Conservative group to form the ‘Cardiff Independent’ group: Emma Reid-Jones (Lisvane and Thornhill ward) and Peter Littlechild (Pontprennau and Old St Mellons ward).
Merthyr Tydfil: Two councillors from the Independent Group have joined Reform UK: Andrew Barry (Town division) and David Hughes (Dowlais and Pant division).
Solihull: Alan Feeney, who was elected for the Conservatives in Castle Bromwich ward, has left the party to join the Solihull Independents group set up by previous Conservative defectors.
Sunderland: Simon Ayre, who was elected for the Conservatives in St Chad’s ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
Tameside: Charlotte Martin, who was elected for the Labour Party in Audenshaw ward but had the whip suspended in February, has left the party and will continue to sit as an Independent councillor.
New vacancies
Basildon: St Martin’s ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Maryam Yaqub. Term ends 2026.
Bromley: Bromley Common and Holwood ward, after the death of Independent councillor Jonathan Laidlaw, who was elected as a Conservative. Term ends 2026.
Cannock Chase: Hednesford Green Heath ward, after the death of Labour councillor Fred Prestwood. Term ends 2027.
Durham: Easington and Shotton division, after the resignation of Reform UK councillor John Bailey. Term ends 2029.
Hertsmere: Borehamwood Brookmeadow ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Alan Plancey. Term ends 2027.
Lichfield: Alrewas and Fradley ward, after the resignation of Independent councillor Mike Wilcox who was elected for the Conservatives. Term ends 2027.
North Devon: Barnstaple with Westacott ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Katrina Stevenson. Term ends 2027.
Runnymede: Addlestone South ward, after the death of Conservative councillor John Furey. Term ends 2028.
Surrey: Addlestone division, after the death of Conservative county councillor John Furey. Term ends 2026.

Neath Port Talbot: The byelection due in Baglan ward will be held on 17 July.
Rhondda Cynon Taf: The byelection due in Pontypridd Town ward will be held on 17 July.
Rutland: The byelection due in Barleythorpe ward will be held on 24 July.
Rochford: We have caught up with the news that the Liberal Democrat-led coalition which ran the council in 2024-25 has been succeeded by a Conservative-led coalition.
