Independent 11, Independent Group 2. An eastern borough of Greater Manchester on the edge of Pennines. Includes several manufacturing and industrial towns: Droylsden, Ashton-under-Lyne, Hyde, as well as overspill housing estates.
Reform UK gained a seat in Longdendale from Labour at a byelection on 10 April. Gary Ferguson (Longdendale) moved from Labour to Independent in March 2025. Ten Labour councillors were suspended in February 2025; Charlotte Martin (Audenshaw) has since left Labour for good.
