The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
- Horsham: The byelection in Denne ward held on 24 March was won by Clive Trott. Liberal Democrat hold.
- Northumberland: The byelection in Seghill with Seaton Delaval division held on 24 March was won by Eve Chicken. Conservative hold.
- Test Valley: The byelection in North Baddesley ward held on 24 March was won by Geoff Cooper. Liberal Democrat hold.
- Thanet: The byelection in Nethercourt ward held on 24 March was won by Anne-Marie Nixey. Labour hold.
Changes of allegiance
- Barrow-in-Furness: Three Conservative councillors have formed the Furness Independent group. They are Hazel Edwards (Hawcoat ward), Wendy McClure (Newbarns ward) and Martin McLeavy (Roosecote ward).
- Bolton: Marie Brady, who was elected for Horwich and Blackrod First in Horwich North East ward, has joined the Conservative Party.
- Hyndburn: Miles Parkinson, who was elected for the Labour Party in Altham ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- North Yorkshire: Val Arnold, who was elected for the Conservatives in Kirkbymoorside division, has left the party and is sitting as an unaffiliated Independent councillor.
- Plymouth: Terri Beer, who was elected for the Conservative Party in Plympton Erle ward and is this year’s Lord Mayor, has left the party to sit as an Independent member.
- Rochdale: Mohammed Zaman, who was elected for the Labour Party in Milkstone and Deeplish ward, has joined the Liberal Democrats.
- Stafford: Jenny Barron and Ray Barron, who were both elected for the Conservatives in Weeping Cross and Wildwood ward, have joined the Borough Independents group. As a result the Conservative Party has lost its overall majority.
- Swale: Peter MacDonald, who was elected for the Conservative Party in Sheppey Central ward, has joined the Independents First group.
- Wirral: Jo Bird, who was elected for the Labour Party in Bromborough ward but expelled from the party in November last year, has now joined the Green Party.
New vacancies
- Basingstoke and Deane: Whitchurch, Overton and Laverstoke ward, after the resignation of Basingstoke and Deane Independent Group councillor Ian Tilbury. Term ends 2023.
- Brent: Kilburn ward, after the disqualification of Independent councillor Abdirazak Abdi who failed to attend any meetings in six months. His term would have ended in May so no byelection follows.
- Cambridge: Arbury ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Carina O’Reilly. Term ends 2024.
- Cambridge: West Chesterton ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Mike Sargeant. Term ends 2024.
- Epping Forest: Waltham Abbey North East ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Ann Mitchell. Term ends 2023.
- Exeter: Pennsylvania ward, after the death of Labour councillor Ian Quance. Term ends 2023.
- Harrogate: Wathvale ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Bernard Bateman. Term ends 2023.
- Hyndburn: St Oswalds ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Chris Knight. Term ends 2023.
- Lancaster: Ellel ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor David Whitworth. Term ends 2023.
- Pendle: Vivary Bridge ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Donna Lockward. Term ends 2023.
- Peterborough: Fletton and Stanground ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Terri Haynes. Term ends 2023.
- Three Rivers: Gade Valley ward, after the resignation of Independent councillor Alex Michaels, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats. Term ends 2023.
- Wirral: Birkenhead and Tranmere ward, after the resignation of Independent group councillor Steve Hayes, who was elected for the Green Party. Term ends 2023.
- Worthing: Castle ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Steve Wills. Term ends 2024.

- Corporation of London: Elections to the Common Council were held on 24 March. The descriptions of the 100 candidates elected were 75 Independent, 10 Temple and Farringdon Together, 7 Castle Baynard Independents Party, 5 Labour Party, 3 no description. The Common Council does not recognise political groups and aside from the Labour Party, the others are expected to sit as non-party members.
- Sandwell: The Secretary of State has proceeded to appoint Commissioners to take over functions of appointing statutory officers.
