Results
- Cambridge: The byelection in Romsey ward held on 12 September was won by Beth Gardiner-Smith. Labour regain a seat lost by the previous councillor leaving the party.
- Gateshead: The byelection in Bridges ward held on 12 September was won by Robert Waugh. Labour hold.
- Hackney: The byelection in London Fields ward held on 12 September was won by George Gooch. Labour hold.
- Hackney: The byelection in Stoke Newington ward held on 12 September was won by Liam Davis. Green Party gain from Labour.
- Milton Keynes: The byelection in Bletchley East ward held on 12 September was won by Saskia Soden. Labour hold.
- Newcastle upon Tyne: The byelection in North Jesmond ward held on 12 September was won by Peter Allen. Liberal Democrat hold.
- Norfolk: The byelection in Freebridge Lynn division held on 12 September was won by Simon Ring, who was an Independent candidate endorsed by the Liberal Democrats who previously held the seat.
- North Ayrshire: The byelection in Arran ward held on 12 September was won by Charles Currie. Labour gain from Conservative.
- North Norfolk: The byelection in North Walsham Market Cross ward held on 12 September was won by Malcolm Gray. The Liberal Democrats regain a seat lost by the previous councillor leaving the party.
- Tower Hamlets: The byelection in Bow East ward held on 12 September was won by Abdi Mohamed. Labour hold.
Changes of allegiance
- Birmingham: Shabina Bano, who was elected for the Labour Party in Small Heath ward, has joined the Liberal Democrats.
- Eilean Siar: Malcolm Macdonald, who was elected as an Independent councillor for Steornabhagh a Tuath ward, has joined the Liberal Democrats.
- Hertfordshire: Two ‘double-hatted’ councillors who left the Liberal Democrats on their respective districts are now sitting as Independent county councillors as well. They are Sara Bedford (Abbots Langley division) and Ron Tindall (Hemel Hempstead St Paul’s division).
- Highland: Andrew Sinclair, who was elected for the Conservatives in Inverness South ward, has joined the Highland Alliance group.
- King’s Lynn and West Norfolk: Pallavi Devulapalli, who was elected for the Green Party in Airfield ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent member; she remains in the Independent Partnership group which controls the council.
- Merthyr Tydfil: Two of the Independent ward councillors for Dowlais and Pant ward have left the main Independent group and formed their own Dowlais and Pant Community Independents group. They are Paula Layton and Declan Sammon.
- Suffolk: Christopher Hudson, who was elected for the Conservatives in Belstead Brook division, has joined Reform UK.
- Surrey Heath: Sashi Mylvaganam, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in Frimley Green ward but left the party in July, has now joined the Conservatives.
- Tower Hamlets: Kabir Hussain, who was elected for Aspire in Spitalfields and Banglatown ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- Warwick: Rebecca Davidson, who was elected for the Conservatives in Radford Semele ward, has joined the Green Party.

- Ashford: Aylesford and East Stour ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Sojan Joseph, now Member of Parliament for Ashford. Term ends 2027.
- Barking and Dagenham: Village ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Margaret Mullane, now Member of Parliament for Dagenham and Rainham. Term ends 2026.
- Blackpool: Bispham ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Tony Warne. Term ends 2027.
- Calderdale: Calder ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Josh Fenton-Glynn, now Member of Parliament for Calder Valley. Term ends 2028.
- Dacorum: Bennetts End ward, after the death of Independent councillor John Birnie. Term ends 2027.
- Derbyshire Dales: Calver and Longstone ward, after the resignation of Green Party councillor Kelda Boothroyd. Term ends 2027.
- East Ayrshire: Doon Valley ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Elaine Stewart, now Member of Parliament for Ayr, Carrick and Cumnock. Term ends 2027.

- Fife: West Fife and Coastal Villages ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Graeme Downie, now Member of Parliament for Dunfermline and Dollar. Term ends 2027.
