The Liberal Democrats held a seat in Fort William and Ardnamurchan at a byelection on 21 November. At byelections on 26 September, a Liberal Democrat and a Highland Alliance supporter held seats in Cromarty Firth, and Labour held Inverness Central. Struan Mackie (Thurso and Northwest Caithness) moved from Conservative to non-aligned in September 2024, and to Liberal Democrat in December 2024; also in September 2024, Thomas MacLennan (Fort William and Ardnamurchan) moved from Highland Alliance to non-aligned; Andrew Sinclair (Inverness South) moved from Conservative to Highland Alliance, in September 2024.
