There is an impending vacancy in East Sutherland and Edderton (held by Highland Alliance). The Liberal Democrats gained a seat from the Scottish National Party at a byelection in Fort William and Ardnamurchan on 11 December. Karl Rosie (Thurso and Northwest Caithness) moved from Alba to Highland Independent in December 2025. Michael Baird (North, West and Central Sutherland) moved from Liberal Democrat to non-aligned in November 2025.
