Independent 2. Historic county on a peninsula between the Forth and Tay estuaries. Previously included a mining area; includes naval dockyard at Rosyth, new town of Glenrothes, and university city of St Andrews.

Stefan Hoggan (Cupar) moved from Scottish National Party to Independent in March 2026. The Scottish National Party held its seat in Glenrothes West and Kinglassie at a byelection on 22 January. The SNP gained a seat in Buckhaven, Methil and Wemyss Villages ward from an Independent elected for Labour, at a byelection on 6 November.
