Independent 1. Historic county on a peninsula between the Forth and Tay estuaries. Previously included a mining area; includes naval dockyard at Rosyth, new town of Glenrothes, and university city of St Andrews.

The Scottish National Party held its seat in Glenrothes West and Kinglassie at a byelection on 22 January. The SNP gained a seat in Buckhaven, Methil and Wemyss Villages ward from an Independent elected for Labour, at a byelection on 6 November. Gavin Ellis (Dunfermline North) moved from Conservative to Reform UK in September 2025. Julie MacDougall (Burntisland, Kinghorn and Kirkcaldy West) moved from Labour to Reform UK in August 2025.
