Independent 2. Historic county on a peninsula between the Forth and Tay estuaries. Previously included a mining area; includes naval dockyard at Rosyth, new town of Glenrothes, and university city of St Andrews.

Buckhaven, Methil and Wemyss Villages ward has a byelection on 6 November (held by an Independent elected for Labour). Gavin Ellis (Dunfermline North) moved from Conservative to Reform UK in September 2025. Julie MacDougall (Burntisland, Kinghorn and Kirkcaldy West) moved from Labour to Reform UK in August 2025. Robin Lawson (St Andrews) moved from Conservative to Independent in May 2025; he is a member of Reform UK.
