- Eden: The byelection in Shap ward held on 14 November was won by Neil McCall. Liberal Democrat gain from Conservative.
- Fife: The byelection in Dunfermline Central ward held on 14 November was won by Derek Glen. Scottish National Party gain from Conservative.
- Fife: The byelection in Rosyth ward held on 14 November was won by Sharon Green-Wilson. Scottish National Party hold.
- Highland: The byelection in Inverness Central ward held on 14 November was won by Emma Roddick. Scottish National Party hold.
- City of London Corporation: The byelection for a Common Councilman in Aldersgate ward held on 13 November was won by Helen Fentimen. Labour hold.
- Neath Port Talbot: The byelection in Rhos division held on 14 November was won by Marcia Spooner. Plaid Cymru gain from Labour.
- Powys: The byelection in St Mary’s division held on 14 November was won by Liz Rijnenberg. Labour gain from Conservative.
- Torbay: The byelection in Goodrington-with-Roselands ward held on 14 November was won by Jane Barnby. Conservative gain from Liberal Democrat.
- Tunbridge Wells: The byelection in Culverden ward held on 14 November was won by Justine Rutland. Liberal Democrat gain from Conservative.
Changes of allegiance
- Amber Valley: Neil Ploughman, who was elected in Belper Central ward while under suspension from the Labour Party, has been reinstated and given the Labour whip.
- Bridgend: Aniel Pucella, who was elected for the Conservative Party in Brackla division, has been suspended from the party over social media activities.
- Calderdale: Roger Taylor, who was elected for the Conservative Party in Northowram and Shelf ward, has been suspended from the party over social media activities.
- Copeland: Ged McGrath, who was elected for the Conservatives in Black Combe and Scafell ward, has left the party to stand for the Brexit Party in Barrow and Furness at the general election. It is unclear which group he will join on the council.
- Kettering: Paul Marks, who was elected for the Conservative Party in St Peter’s ward, has been suspended from the party over social media activities.
- Medway: Steve Iles, who was elected for the Conservatives in Strood North ward, has been suspended from the party over social media activities.
- Northamptonshire: Sam Rumens, who was elected for the Conservatives in Kingsthorpe North division, has been suspended from the party over social media activities.
- Redcar and Cleveland: Malcolm Griffiths, who was elected for the Conservative Party in Hutton ward, has been suspended from the party over social media activities.
- Sandwell: Bill Gavan, who was elected for the Labour Party in Langley ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- Walsall: Vera Waters, who was elected for the Conservatives in Rushall-Shelfield ward, has been suspended from the party over social media activities.
New vacancy
- Warwick: Warwick Myton and Heathcote ward, after the disqualification of Conservative councillor Sukhi Sanghera who has accepted bankruptcy restrictions. Term ends 2022.
