Results
- Cannock Chase: The byelection in Hednesford Green Heath ward held on 7 August was won by Paul Jones. Reform UK gain from Labour.
- Carmarthenshire: The byelection in Barnstaple with Westacott ward held on 7 August was won by Carmelo Colasanto. Reform UK gain from Labour.
- Durham: The byelection in Easington and Shotton division held on 7 August was won by Louise Penders. Reform UK hold.
Defections
- Birmingham: Two councillors elected for the Labour Party have left the group to sit as Independent councillors. They are Barbara Dring (Oscott ward) and Jane Jones (Stockland Green ward).
- Burnley: Fiona Wild, who was elected for the Labour Party in Lanehead ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- Cambridge: Dave Baigent, who was elected for the Labour Party in Romsey ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- Forest of Dean: Alan Preest, who was elected for the Conservatives in Lydney East ward, has joined Reform UK.
- Hartlepool: Mike Young, who was elected for the Conservatives in Rural West ward, has joined Reform UK.
- Sheffield: Ruth Milsom, who was elected for the Labour Party in Crookes and Crosspool ward, has been suspended from the whip for three months.
- Solihull: Jane Lamden, who was elected for the Green Party in Chelmsley Wood ward, has joined the Conservatives.
- Southampton: Rebecca McCreanor, who was elected for the Labour Party in Coxford ward, has joined the Liberal Democrats.
- Southend-on-Sea: Two councillors elected as Conservatives have joined Reform UK. They are Judith McMahon (Shoeburyness ward) and Daniel Nelson (Southchurch ward).
- Staffordshire Moorlands: Charlie Smith, who was elected for the Labour Party in Biddulph West ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- Waltham Forest: Justin Halabi, who was elected for the Conservatives in Hatch Lane and Highams Park North ward, has joined Reform UK.
- Wandsworth: Mark Justin, who was elected for the Conservatives in Nine Elms ward, has joined Reform UK.

- Cardiff: Trowbridge ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Chris Lay who has left the area. Term ends 2027.
- Highland: Caol and Mallaig ward, after the resignation of Scottish Green Party councillor Andrew Baldrey. Term ends 2027.
- Stirling: Stirling East ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Bryan Flanagan. Term ends 2027.
- Surrey: Camberley West division, after the death of Conservative county councillor David Lewis. Term ends May next year.
- Warwick: Kenilworth Park Hill ward, after the resignation of Green Party councillor Lara Cron. Term ends 2027.

- Brighton and Hove: The byelection due in Queen’s Park ward will be held on 18 September.
- Cheshire East: The byelection due in Wilmslow Lacey Green ward will be held on 11 September.
- Highland: The byelection due in Caol and Mallaig ward will be held on 25 September.
- Highland: The byelection due in Tain and Easter Ross ward will be held on 25 September.
- Newham: The byelection due in Plaistow South ward will be held on 18 September.
- Vale of Glamorgan: The byelection due in Illtyd ward will be held on 11 September.
