Newham Independents 5, Independents 2. East London, named as a compromise between East Ham and West Ham. Includes a large area of dockland redevelopment and the Beckton area, as well as the Olympic park. Long-serving Mayor Sir Robin Wales was succeeded by Rokhsana Fiaz in 2018.

Nur Begum (Little Ilford) moved from Labour to Newham Independents in November 2025. Newham Independents gained a seat in Plaistow South from Labour at a byelection on 18 September.
