Newham Independents 4, Independents 3. East London, named as a compromise between East Ham and West Ham. Includes a large area of dockland redevelopment and the Beckton area, as well as the Olympic park. Long-serving Mayor Sir Robin Wales was succeeded by Rokhsana Fiaz in 2018.

Nur Begum (Little Ilford) moved from Labour to Newham Independents in November 2025, but moved to be an Independent in January 2026. Newham Independents gained a seat in Plaistow South from Labour at a byelection on 18 September.
