The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.

Results

Colchester: The byelection in Highwoods ward held on 21 September was won by Simon Appleton. Liberal Democrat gain from Labour.
Kingston upon Hull: The byelection in Bricknell ward held on 21 September was won by Sharon Hofman. Labour hold.
Milton Keynes: The byelection in Newport Pagnell South ward held on 21 September was won by Tony Oyakhire. Liberal Democrat gain from Conservative.
South Ayrshire: The byelection in Girvan and South Carrick ward held on 21 September was won by Alan Lamont. Conservative gain from Scottish National Party.

Burnley: Charlie Briggs, who was elected for the Burnley and Padiham Independent Party in Gannow ward, but became an Independent when the party was wound up last month, has now joined the Labour Party.
Luton: Aslam Khan, who was the Deputy Leader of the Council and elected for Labour in Poets ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
West Oxfordshire: Matthew Parkinson, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in Stonesfield and Tackley ward, has joined the Labour Party.

Buckinghamshire: Buckingham East ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Warren Whyte who has moved to the Isle of Wight. Term ends 2025.
Durham: Dawdon division, after the death of Labour councillor Leanne Kennedy. Term ends 2025.
Lewisham: Deptford ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Stephen Hayes. Term ends 2026.
Rotherham: Kilnhurst and Swinton East ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Stuart Sansome (he has also left the party). Term ends 2025.

Buckinghamshire: The byelection due in Buckingham East ward will be held on 2 November.
Corporation of London: The byelection for a Common Councilman due in Cripplegate ward will be held on 2 November.
Corporation of London: An election for the Alderman of Langbourn ward will be held on 2 November.
North Lanarkshire: The byelection due in Motherwell South East and Ravenscraig ward will be held on 16 November.

Birmingham: Following the council’s financial difficulties, the Secretary of State is proposing to intervene to appoint commissioners with powers to make decisions on governance and finance if necessary.
Isle of Wight: The leader of the Alliance Group was elected Leader of the council, on the chair’s casting vote as he and the Conservative group leader were tied in the ballot at Wednesday’s full council meeting.
