Independent 10, Alba Party 1. The resort and port town of Ayr, together with Troon with its famous golf course. Prestwick Airport is 30 miles from Glasgow but is the city's airport. South of Ayr, past Burns' birthplace of Alloway is the Carrick area, rural and sparsely populated.

Ian Davis (Ayr North) moved from Conservative to Independent in October 2025; Martin Dowey (Ayr West) returned to the Conservatives in October 2025. An Independent won Ayr North at a byelection on 16 October, succeeding an Independent eleced for the Scottish National Party. Iain Campbell (Maybole, North Carrick and Coylton), Gavin Scott (Girvan and South Carrick) moved from Conservative to Independent in May 2025, to Reform UK in October 2025. Mary Kilpatrick (Ayr East) moved from Conservative to Independent in May 2025.
