Changes of allegiance
Conwy: Mike Priestley, who was elected for the Labour Party in Marl division but left the party in October 2020 and had been a non-aligned councillor, has now joined the Conwy First Independent Group.
North Norfolk: Greg Hayman, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in Trunch ward, has resigned his executive portfolio and left the group; he is now sitting as a non-aligned Independent.
East Suffolk: Aldeburgh and Leiston ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Jocelyn Bond. Term ends 2023.

North Somerset: Congresbury and Puxton ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Stuart Treadaway. Term ends 2023.
Leicester: Humberstone and Hamilton ward, after the death of Independent councillor John Thomas, who was elected for Labour but left the party in 2019. Term ends 2023.
Mid Sussex: Ardingly and Balcombe ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Andrew MacNaughton. Term ends 2023.
Stoke-on-Trent: Penkhull and Stoke ward, after the resignation of City Independents councillor Randy Conteh following a criminal charge. Term ends 2023.
Dates for byelections
East Suffolk: The byelection for two seats in Aldeburgh and Leiston ward will be held on 8 July.
Elmbridge: The byelection due in Cobham and Downside ward will be held on 1 July.
Enfield: The byelection due in Bush Hill Park ward will be held on 1 July.
Mid Sussex: The byelection due in Ardingly and Balcombe ward will be held on 8 July.
Newark and Sherwood: The byelection for two seats in Bridge ward will be held on 1 July.
North Ayrshire: The byelection due in Dalry and West Kilbride ward will be held on 12 August.
Stoke-on-Trent: The byelection due in Penkhull and Stoke ward will be held on 1 July.
Durham: After Labour lost its majority, the opposition parties have agreed a coalition deal and taken control. The council leader is a Liberal Democrat, with a Conservative as deputy leader, and members of the Durham Group of Independents and the North East Party on the cabinet.
Hartlepool: The new council leadership has been elected. The Independent Union take the post of leader, with a Conservative deputy leader, and Independent group members chairing some committees.
Tandridge: The Oxted and Lingfield Resident Group Alliance have now formed an administration on the council, consisting of their own members and members of the separate Independent group.
