Many happy returns in Cambridgeshire

The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.

Results

Charnwood: The byelection in Shepshed West ward held on 23 September was won by Ian Williams. Conservative hold.
East Cambridgeshire: The byelection in Soham North ward held on 23 September was won by Mark Goldsack, who returns to the council. Conservative gain from Liberal Democrat.
East Devon: The byelection in Exe Valley ward held on 23 September was won by Jamie Kemp. Liberal Democrat hold.
Epsom and Ewell: The byelection in Cuddington ward held on 23 September was won by Graham Jones. Residents Association of Cuddington hold.
Hammersmith and Fulham: The byelection held in Wormholt and White City ward held on 23 September was won by Frances Umeh. Labour hold.
South Lakeland: The byelection in Kendal North ward held on 23 September was won by Jonathan Cornthwaite. Liberal Democrat hold.

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole: Four councillors have joined the Conservative Party from various opposition groups. They are Steve Baron (Parkstone ward) and Daniel Butt (Hamworthy ward) who were unaligned, Nigel Brooks (Highcliffe and Walkford ward) who was in the Christchurch Independents, and Toby Johnson (Alderney and Bourne Valley ward) from the Liberal Democrats. As a result the Conservatives now have an overall majority on the council.
Enfield: Anne Brown, who was elected for the Labour Party in Southgate Green ward but joined the Community First group in March, has now joined the Green Party.
Melton: Donald Pritchett, who was elected as an Independent in Bottesford ward, has joined the Conservatives. Meanwhile Leigh Higgins, who was elected for the Conservative Party in Somerby ward, has been suspended from the party whip following comments at a public event.

Canterbury: Gorrell ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor George Caffery. Term ends 2023.
Gloucester: Longlevens ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Clive Walford, the Sheriff of Gloucester. Term ends 2024.
Highland: Fort William and Ardnamurchan ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Ian Ramon. Term ends May next year.
Huntingdonshire: Huntingdon East ward, after the death of Liberal Democrat councillor Trish Shrapnel. Term ends May next year.
Nottingham: St Ann’s ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Chantal Lee. Term ends 2023.
Nottingham: Sherwood ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Lauren O’Grady. Term ends 2023.
South Ribble: Bamber Bridge East ward, after the death of Labour councillor Christine Melia. Term ends 2023.

Bolton: The byelection due in Bromley Cross ward will be held on 28 October.
Carlisle: The byelection due in Currock and Upperby ward will be held on 28 October.
Gloucester: The byelection due in Longlevens ward will be held on 4 November.
Horsham: The byelection due in Forest ward will be held on 21 October.
Huntingdonshire: The byelection due in Huntingdon East ward will be held on 4 November.
Nottingham: The byelection due in St Ann’s ward will be held on 7 October.
Nottingham: The byelection due in Sherwood ward will be held on 7 October.
Salford: The byelection due in Blackfriars and Trinity ward will be held on 4 November.
South Staffordshire: The byelection due in Kinver ward will be held on 28 October.
South Staffordshire: The byelection due in Wombourne South East ward will be held on 28 October.
Wrexham: The byelection due in Gresford East and West ward will be held on 28 October.
