Residents’ Associations 24, Independent 2. Surrey commuter towns, which fought against inclusion in Greater London in the early 1960s. The council has been run by the Residents' Association since the 1930s.
The council will be replaced by an East Surrey unitary council in 2027. Shanice Goldman (Nonsuch) moved from Residents’ Association to non-grouped in December 2025, to Conservative in January 2026.
