Results
- Bassetlaw: The byelection in Ranskill ward held on 10 July was won by Andrew McCallum. Reform UK gain from Conservative.
- Hartlepool: The byelection in Throston ward held on 10 July was won by Ed Doyle. Reform UK gain a seat previously held by a ‘Hartlepool People’ councillor who was elected for the Labour Party.
- Isle of Wight: The byelection in Wroxall, Lowtherville and Bonchurch ward held on 10 July was won by Mark Jefferies of Island Independent Network, who succeeds an Independent also from the Alliance Group.
- Mole Valley: The byelection in Bookham East and Eastwick Park ward held on 10 July was won by Lawrence Penney. Liberal Democrat hold.
- Rotherham: The byelection in Keppel ward held on 10 July, was won by Tony Harrison. Reform UK gain from Labour.
- Surrey: The byelection in Woking South division held on 10 July, was won by Louise Morales. Liberal Democrat hold.
- Tewkesbury: The byelection in Northway ward held on 10 July was won by Graham Bocking. Reform UK gain from ‘The Independents’.
- Vale of White Horse: The byelection in Botley and Sunningwell held on 10 July was won by Ben Potter. Liberal Democrat hold.
- Wealden: The byelection in Horam and Punnetts Town ward held on 10 July was won by Diane Gould. Green Party hold.
- Woking: The byelection in Hoe Valley ward held on 10 July was won by Deborah Hughes. Liberal Democrat hold.
Defections
- Hyndburn: Joyce Plummer, who was elected for the Labour Party in Peel ward but left the party in 2024, has joined the Conservative Party.
- Peterborough: Roger Antunes, who was elected for Peterborough First in Hampton Vale ward, has been expelled from the group, and is sitting as an Independent councillor.
- Worcester: Elena Round, who was elected for the Green Party in St Peter’s Parish ward, has left the group to sit as an Independent councillor.
New vacancies
- Brentwood: Hutton South ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Mark Reed. Term ends 2027.
- Broxtowe: Nuthall East and Strelley ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Graham Hills. Term ends 2027.
- Doncaster: Bentley ward, after the resignation of Reform UK councillor Sam Booth. Term ends 2029.
- Runnymede: Addlestone South ward, after the resignation of Conservative group leader Peter Snow. Term ends 2027.
- Vale of Glamorgan: Illtyd ward, after the death of Labour councillor Howard Hamilton. Term ends 2027.
Dates for byelections
- Cardiff: The byelection due in Grangetown ward will be held on 14 August.
- Hounslow: The byelection due in Cranford ward will be held on 21 August.
