Brentwood Alliance 2. Commuter area of south-east Essex, including the eastern terminus of the Elizabeth Line at Shenfield.

The government proposes to merge the council with Chelmsford and Maldon to create a new unitary Mid Essex council in 2027. The Brentwood Alliance group was formed by Adrian Baldock and Sheila Murphy (both Herongate, Ingrave and West Horndon) who left the Conservatives in May 2026 and April 2025 respectively.
