Independent 4. North Nottinghamshire, named after the mediaeval 'wapentake' (a county division) covering the area; towns of Worksop and Retford.

The Conservatives won a seat in East Retford South at a byelection on 29 July; the sitting Labour councillor had resigned but stood again as an Independent. At byelections on 6 May, the Conservatives gained Ranskill from Labour and Sutton from an Independent.
