The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.

Results

  • Blackpool: The byelection in Greenlands ward held on 18 December was won by Jonathan Morgan. Reform UK gain from Labour.
  • Cornwall: The byelection in St Columb Minor and Colan division held on 18 December was won by Heinz Glanville. Reform UK regain a seat lost when the previous councillor left the party.
  • Harborough: The byelection in Market Harborough Logan ward held on 18 December was won by David Page. Conservative gain from Liberal Democrat.
  • South Ribble: The byelection in Broad Oak ward held on 18 December was won by Clare Burton-Johnson. Liberal Democrat hold.
  • Suffolk: The byelection in Pakefield division held on 18 December was won by June Mummery. Reform UK gain from Conservative.

Defections

New vacancies

  • Barnsley: Rockingham ward, after the resignation (due on 31 December) of Independent councillor David White who was elected as a Conservative and also spent some time in Reform UK. As his term was due to end next May no byelection follows.
  • Durham: Murton division, after the resignation of Reform UK councillor David Cumming. Term ends 2029.
  • North Lincolnshire: Brumby ward, after the death of Labour councillor Sue Armitage. Term ends 2027.
  • Peterborough: Fletton and Woodston ward, after the death of Labour councillor Nick Thulbourn. Term ends 2027.
  • South Cambridgeshire: Milton and Waterbeach ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Judith Rippeth. Her term would have ended in May so she will not be replaced.

Date for byelection

  • Pembrokeshire: The byelection due in Fishguard North East ward will be held on Tuesday 10 February.
