The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
- Highland: The byelection in Tain and Easter Ross ward held on 28 September was won by Maureen Ross. Independent gain from Liberal Democrat.
- North Yorkshire: The byelection in Hutton Rudby and Osmotherley division held on 28 September was won by David Hugill who was previously a member of the County Council. Conservative hold.
- South Norfolk: The byelection in Mulbarton and Stoke Holy Cross ward held on 28 September was won by Robert McClenning. Liberal Democrat hold.
- South Norfolk: The byelection in Wymondham South ward held on 28 September was won by Carmina McConnell. Liberal Democrat hold.
- Wolverhampton: The byelection in Bushbury South and Low Hill ward held on 28 September was won by Paul Brookfield, who succeeds his late father Ian Brookfield. Labour hold.
Changes of allegiance
- Ashford: Andrew Buchanan, who was elected for the Conservative Party in Furley ward but voted against a Conservative leader for the council in May and left the council group in June, has now designated himself as a ‘Local Conservative’.
- Hastings: John Rankin, who was elected for the Conservatives in Conquest ward, has left the party and is sitting as an Independent councillor.
- Kent: Alan Marsh, who was elected for the Conservatives in Herne Village and Sturry division but was suspended from the group in May, has now been granted the Conservative whip.
- Oxfordshire: Damian Haywood, who was elected for the Labour Party in Iffley Fields and St Mary’s division but suspended for six months in March, has left the party and will continue to sit as an Independent councillor.
New vacancies
- Denbighshire: Rhyl South West ward, after the death of the chairman of the council and Labour councillor Pete Prendergast. Term ends 2027.
- South Holland: Spalding St Paul’s ward, after the resignation of South Holland Independents councillor Bailey Boulding. Term ends 2027.
- Trafford: Bucklow St Martins ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Adele New. Term ends 2027.

- Elmbridge: The byelection due in Molesey East ward will be held on 2 November.
- Hackney: The byelection for Mayor of Hackney will be held on 9 November.
- Lincolnshire: The byelection due in Grantham North division will be held on 9 November.
- Melton: The byelection due in Asfordby ward will be held on 2 November.
- Powys: The byelection for two seats in Crickhowell with Cwmdu and Tretower division will be held on 9 November.
- Rotherham: The byelection due in Kilnhurst and Swinton East ward will be held on 2 November.
- South Holland: The byelection due in Spalding St Paul’s ward will be held on 9 November.
- South Kesteven: The byelection due in Grantham St Wulfram’s ward will be held on 9 November.
- Trafford: The byelection due in Bucklow St Martins ward will be held on 2 November.

- Oxfordshire: The Labour group has left the ruling ‘Fair Deal Alliance’ coalition after the Liberal Democrat council leader informed the Labour group that their Leader would be removed from the cabinet if she did not resign her post. The executive is now a minority coalition of Liberal Democrats and the Green Party.
