The Liberal Democrats held Chesterton and Launton at a byelection on 3 September. Paul-Austin Sargent (Banbury Grimsbury and Castle) moved from Conservative to Independent in July 2026 but remains in the Oxfordshire Alliance group. Nick Cotter (Bicester South) moved from Liberal Democrat to non-grouped Independent in May 2026. Ben Higgins (Watlington and Rotherfield) was suspended from the Liberal Democrats from April to June 2026.
