The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
- Arun: The byelection in Arundel and Walberton ward held on 1 December was won by Stephen McAuliffe. Green Party hold.
- Norfolk: The byelection in Gaywood North and Central division held on 1 December was won by David Sayers. Liberal Democrat gain from Conservative.
- Southampton: The byelection in Bitterne ward held on 1 December was won by Yvonne Frampton. Labour gain from Conservative.
- Surrey: The byelection in Sunbury Common and Ashford Common division held on 30 November was won by Harry Boparai. Liberal Democrat gain from Conservative.
- Waverley: The byelection in Chiddingfold and Dunsfold ward held on 1 December was won by Dave Busby. Liberal Democrat gain from Conservative (with the defending Conservative candidate having been suspended two days before the poll).
- West Lothian: The byelection in Broxburn, Uphall and Winchburgh ward held on 1 December was won by Tony Boyle. Labour hold.
Changes of allegiance
- Blackpool: Derek Robertson, who was elected for the Conservatives in Waterloo ward, has left the party to sit as a non-aligned Independent, following his deselection.
- Portsmouth: Judith Smyth, who was elected for the Labour Party in St Jude ward, has left the party group after being suspended, and is currently sitting as a non-aligned Independent councillor.
- Telford and Wrekin: Jayne Greenaway, who was elected for the Conservatives in Horsehay and Lightmoor ward, has left the party and will sit as an Independent councillor.
- Wakefield: Annemarie Glover, who was elected for the Conservatives in Wrenthorpe and Outwood West ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
New vacancies
- Barking and Dagenham: Heath ward, after the death of Labour councillor Olawale Martins. Term ends 2026.
- Cheshire East: Macclesfield Tytherington ward, after the resignation of Real Independent councillor Lloyd Roberts. His term was due to end in May so no byelection follows.
- Harrogate: Claro ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Zoë Metcalfe, the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for North Yorkshire. The council is being abolished at the end of March.
- North Kesteven: Bassingham and Brant Broughton ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Russell Eckert. No byelection follows as his term would have ended next May.
- Sedgemoor: Highbridge and Burnham Marine ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Nick Bayliss. His term would have ended when the council was abolished at the end of March.
- Stevenage: Bedwell ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Matt Creasey. Term ends 2024.
- Wirral: Heswall ward, after the disqualification of Conservative councillor Paul Connolly who did not attend any council meetings in six months. With full council elections due next May, no byelection will be held.

- Cannock Chase: The byelection due in Etching Hill and The Heath ward will be held on 5 January 2023.
- Plymouth: The byelection due in Moor View ward will be held on 12 January 2023.
- Plymouth: The byelection due in Plympton Chaddlewood ward will be held on 12 January 2023.
- Stevenage: The byelection due in Bedwell ward will be held on 19 January 2023.
- Uttlesford: The byelection due in Great Dunmow and Barnston ward will be held on 5 January 2023.
