Residents for Uttlesford 18, Independent 3. Rural north-west Essex, including Saffron Walden and also taking in Stanted Airport. The town of Dunmow is famous for the annual award of the Dunmow Flitch to couples who have avoided arguments.

The government proposes to merge the council with Epping Forest and Harlow to create a new unitary West Essex council in 2027. The Conservatives gained a seat from Residents 4 Uttlesford in Great Dunmow North at a byelection on 30 July. The Conservatives gained Stort Valley from the Liberal Democrats at a byelection on 25 June. Brian Regan (Great Dunmow South and Barnston) moved from Conservative to Independent in April 2026. Geoff Bagnall and Mark Coletta (both Takeley ward) moved from Residents 4 Uttlesford to Reform UK in February 2026.
