The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.

Results

  • Chichester: The byelection in Chichester East ward held on 24 June was won by Bill Brisbane. Liberal Democrat gain from Labour.
  • Gwynedd: The byelection in Harlech division held on 24 June was won by Gwynfor Owen. Plaid Cymru gain from Independent.
  • North Lanarkshire: The byelection in Murdostoun ward held on 24 June was won by Robert John McKendrick, son of the late former councillor Robert McKendrick senior. Independent hold.
  • Rugby: The byelection in Wolvey and Shilton ward held on 24 June was won by Becky Maoudis. Conservative hold.
  • Somerset West and Taunton: The byelection in North Curry and Ruishton ward held on 24 June was won by Barrie Hall. Liberal Democrat hold. As a result the Liberal Democrats have regained an overall majority on the council.
  • Swindon: The byelection in Priory Vale ward held on 24 June was won by Kate Tomlinson. The Conservatives regain a seat lost by the defection of the previous councillor to Independent.

  • Harrogate: Knaresborough Scriven Park ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Samantha Mearns. Term ends 2022.
  • Rhondda Cynon Taf: Tyn-y-Nant division, after the death of Labour councillor Clayton Willis. Term ends 2022.
  • Waverley: Cranleigh East ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Richard Cole. Term ends 2023.

  • Aberdeenshire: The byelection due in Mid Formartine ward will be held on 19 August.
  • Basildon: The byelection due in Pitsea North West ward will be held on 29 July.
  • Bassetlaw: The byelection due in East Retford South ward will be held on 29 July.
  • Harrogate: The byelection due in Knaresborough Scriven Park ward will be held on 29 July.
  • Norfolk: The byelection due in Gaywood South division will be held on 29 July.
  • Rhondda Cynon Taf: The byelection due in Tyn-y-Nant division will be held on 22 July.
