The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.

Results

  • King’s Lynn and West Norfolk: The byelection in Hunstanton ward held on 27 November was won by Fred Pidcock. Reform UK gain from an Independent.
  • Pendle: The byelection in Barnoldswick ward held on 27 November was won by Bryony Hartley. Liberal Democrat hold.
  • Sunderland: The byelection in Hetton ward held on 27 November was won by Ian McKinley. Reform UK gain from Labour.

Defections

New vacancies

  • Amber Valley: Codnor, Langley Mill and Aldercar ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor David Moon. Term ends 2027.
  • Cotswold: The Rissingtons ward, after the impending resignation of Green Party Andrew Maclean due to ill health. Term ends 2027.
  • Gosport: Bridgemary ward, after the death of Liberal Democrat councillor Bob Maynard. Term ends 2028.
  • Sunderland: Washington West ward, after the death of Labour councillor Dorothy Trueman. Her term was due to end in May so no byelection follows.
  • Tameside: Denton South ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Claire Reid. As her term was due to end next May, she will not be replaced.
