The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
Basingstoke and Deane: The byelection in Bramley and Sherfield ward held on 10 October was won by Chris Tomblin who stood as an Independent candidate, and gained his seat from the Conservatives. As a result the Conservative administration is now in a minority.
Corby: The byelection in Beanfield ward held on 10 October was won by Alison Dalziel. Labour hold.
Watford: The byelection in Tudor ward held on 10 October was won by Bill Stanton. Liberal Democrat hold.
Chichester: Loxwood ward, after the resignation of Green Party councillor Natalie Hume, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats but moved parties in July. Term ends 2023.
Eden: Shap ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor John Owen. Term ends 2023.
Salford: Pendlebury ward, after the death of Labour councillor John Ferguson. Term ends 2023.
Dates for byelections
Chichester: The byelection due in Loxwood ward will be held on 21 November.
Eden: The byelection due in Shap ward will be held on 14 November.
Corporation of London: The byelection for a Common Councilman in Aldersgate ward will be held on Wednesday 13 November.
Neath Port Talbot: The byelection due in Rhos division will be held on 14 November.
Powys: The byelection due in St Mary division will be held on 14 November.
Tunbridge Wells: The byelection due in Culverden ward will be held on 14 November.
West Sussex: The byelection due in Bourne division will be held on 21 November.
Other updates
Stafford: The election petition challenging the result in Haywoods and Hixon ward has been withdrawn with an agreement that the council will not seek payment of its costs by the petitioners. The result (an Independent and a Conservative were declared elected) will therefore stand.
Thanet: A council meeting on Thursday passed a motion removing the Conservative administration, and elected a Labour leader. Labour will run a minority administration with support from the Thanet Independents.
