Bassetlaw: Two councillors who were elected for the Labour Party but left it in 2024 and 2025 have now joined Restore Britain. They are Deborah Merryweather (Worksop East ward) and Fraser Merryweather (Worksop North East ward).
Camden: Sue Vincent, who was elected for the Labour Party in Holborn and Covent Garden ward, has left the party and is sitting as an Independent councillor.
Chichester: Joseph Brookes-Harmer, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in Lavant ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
King’s Lynn and West Norfolk: Francis Bone, who was elected for the Labour Party in St Margarets with St Nicholas ward, has left the party to join the Independent Partnership group on the council.
Warwickshire: Jan Matecki, who was elected for the Conservatives in Budbrooke and Bishop’s Tachbrook division, has been suspended from the party for three months after supporting a motion of no confidence in Reform UK council leader George Finch, against the group whip.
Dorset: St Leonards and St Ives ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Barry Goringe. Term ends 2029.
Flintshire: Argoed and New Brighton ward, after the death of Liberal Democrat councillor Hilary McGuill. Term ends 2027.
Harborough: Lutterworth East ward, after the death of Labour councillor David Gair. Term ends 2027. As a result the Conservatives have called an extraordinary meeting on Monday at which they will seek to take control of the council from the current Liberal Democrat/Labour/Green coalition.
Dorset: The byelection due in Bridport ward will be held on 21 May.
Lancaster: The byelection due in Castle ward will be held on 21 May.
