Dumfries and Galloway: The byelection in Mid Galloway and Wigtown West ward held on 8 December was won by Richard Marsh. Conservative gain from Labour.
Lincolnshire: The byelection in Spalding West division held on 8 December was won by Manzur Hasan. South Holland Independents hold.
City of London Corporation: The election for an Alderman for Aldgate ward held on 8 December was won by the incumbent, Sue Langley.
Medway: The byelection in Peninsula ward held on 8 December was won by George Crozer. Independent hold.
North Devon: The byelection in Landkey ward held on 8 December was won by Victoria Nel. Liberal Democrat gain from a North Devon Independent who was elected as a Conservative; as a result the Liberal Democrats now have an overall majority on the council.
South Holland: The byelection in Spalding Monks House ward held on 8 December was won by Stephen Timewell. Conservative gain from South Holland Independent.
Plymouth: Stephen Hulme, who was elected for the Conservatives in Ham ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent member.
Rotherham: Tracey Wilson, who was elected for the Conservatives in Anston and Woodsetts ward, has left the party to sit as a non-aligned Independent councillor.
Tameside: Sam Gosling, who was elected for the Labour Party in Stalybridge North ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
Warwick: David Norris, who was elected for the Conservatives in Bishop’s Tachbrook ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
New vacancies
Aberdeen: Dyce, Bucksburn and Danestone ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Avril MacKenzie. Term ends 2027.
Bolsover: Clowne West ward, after the resignation of Community Independent councillor Dan Salt. His term was due to end in May so he will not be replaced.
Cambridge: East Chesterton ward, after the resignation for health reasons of Labour councillor Carla McQueen. Her term would have ended in May so no byelection will be held.
Somerset West and Taunton: Vivary ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Danny Wedderkopp. No byelection follows as the council is being abolished at the end of March.
