The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.

Changes of allegiance

Cornwall: John Fitter, who was elected for the Conservative Party in St Mawgan and Colan division, has left the party to sit as a non-aligned councillor.
Doncaster: George Derx, who was elected for the Labour Party in Stainforth and Barnby Dun ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
Haringey: Preston Tabois, who was elected for the Labour Party in Tottenham Green ward, has been suspended from the whip and is sitting as an Independent councillor.
North Norfolk: Nigel Pearce, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in Roughton ward, has rejoined the Conservative Party three years after defecting from it.
Stoke-on-Trent: Four councillors have joined the Conservative Party. Three move from the City Independents group: Lesley Adams (Burslem Park ward), Shaun Bennett (Hollybush and Longton West ward), and Janine Bridges (Great Chell and Packmoor ward). Also Ally Simcock (Sandford Hill ward) has moved from the Labour Party.

Birmingham: Quinton ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor and former council leader John Clancy. Term ends 2022.
Hartlepool: Seaton ward, after the resignation of Putting Seaton First councillor James Black who has taken a politically restricted post. No byelection will be held as his term was extended to May next year.
Maldon: Heybridge East ward, after the resignation of veteran Conservative councillor Bryan Harker. Term ends 2023.
Redbridge: Seven Kings ward, after the death of Labour councillor Stuart Bellwood. Term ends 2022.
Redcar and Cleveland: Guisborough ward, after the death of Conservative councillor and former Mayor Dennis Teasdale. Term ends 2023.
Wakefield: Airedale and Ferry Fryston ward, after the disqualification of Independent councillor Alex Kear. Term ends 2023.

In England, all current vacancies which do not fill a term ending in 2021 will be held on 6 May 2021, the ordinary day for local elections. In Wales, all byelections will be held in a period between 1 February and 16 April 2021.
