The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
- Broadland: The byelection in Thorpe St Andrew North West ward held on 7 September was won by Peter Berry. Conservative gain from Labour.
- City of London Corporation: The incumbent Alderman for Bread Street ward, Sir William Russell, was re-elected at the election held on 7 September.
- Manchester: The byelection in Brooklands ward held on 7 September was won by Dave Marsh. Labour hold.
- Newcastle-under-Lyme: The byelection in Audley ward held on 7 September was won by Rebekah Lewis. Labour hold.
- Newcastle-under-Lyme: The byelection in Knutton ward held on 7 September was won by Rob Moss. Labour hold.
- Shropshire: The byelection in Worfield division held on 7 September was won by Andrew Sherrington. Liberal Democrat gain from Conservative.
- Spelthorne: The byelection in Ashford Town ward held on 6 September was won by Paul Dennis. Conservative gain from an Independent Green councillor elected for the Green Party.
Changes of allegiance
- Cheshire West and Chester: Two of the three councillors elected for ‘Winsford Salt of the Earth’ have been expelled from the group. They are Simon Boone (Winsford Swanlow ward) and Mandy Clare (Winsford Dene ward).
- Hampshire: Prad Bains, who was elected for the Conservatives in Cowplain and Hart Plain division but left the party in 2021, has joined the Liberal Democrats.
- Neath Port Talbot: Angharad Aubrey, who was elected for the Labour Party in Coedffranc Central ward, has left the party and is now an unaffiliated Independent councillor.
- Tendring: Nick Turner, who was elected for the Conservatives in Frinton ward, has left the party group and is sitting as an ungrouped councillor. It is also noted that Dan Casey, elected as an Independent in West Clacton and Jaywick Sands ward, has left the Tendring Independents group and is also now ungrouped.
New vacancies
- Powys: Crickhowell with Cwmdu and Tretower division, after the resignation of non-affiliated councillor Matt Beecham, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats but left the party in January. Term ends 2027.

- Shropshire: Alveley and Claverley division, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Elliott Lynch. Term ends 2025.
- Waltham Forest: Higham Hill ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Alistair Strathern in order to contest the Mid Bedfordshire Parliamentary byelection. Term ends 2026.
Dates for byelections
- Suffolk: The byelection due in Woodbridge division will be held on 12 October.
- Waltham Forest: The byelection due in Higham Hill ward will be held on 26 October.
Other updates
- Hackney: Mayor of Hackney, Philip Glanville, has temporarily stepped aside from the leadership pending the Labour Party inquiry into him. Anntoinette Bramble, as statutory deputy Mayor, will run the council in the interim.
- Herefordshire: The byelection in Golden Valley South ward which was due to take place on 7 September has been postponed following the death on 28 August of Toby Murcott, who was nominated as an Independent candidate.
