The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
- Buckinghamshire: The byelection in Denham division held on 27 July was won by Jaspal Chhokar. Conservative hold.
- East Sussex: The byelection in Heathfield and Mayfield division held on 27 July was won by Anne Cross. Green Party gain from Conservative.
- Plymouth: The byelection in Plymstock Dunstone ward held on 27 July was won by Stefan Krizanac. Labour gain from Conservative.
- Plymouth: The byelection in St Peter and the Waterfront ward held on 27 July was won by Alison Raynsford. Labour hold.
- Warrington: The byelection in Poulton North ward held on 27 July was won by Una Gillham. Labour hold.
Changes of allegiance
- Blackburn with Darwen: Hussain Akhtar, who was elected for the Labour Party in Shear Brow and Corporation Park ward, has left the party group to sit as an Independent councillor.
- Broxtowe: Two councillors elected for the Liberal Democrats have left the party to form the Broxtowe Independents. They are Barbara Carr and Stephen Carr, both of whom represent Beeston North ward.
- Buckinghamshire: Nabeela Rana, who was elected for the Wycombe Independents in Ryemead and Micklefield ward, has left the group and is sitting as a non-aligned councillor.
- Hartlepool: Steve Wallace, who was elected for the Labour Party in Throston ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- North Tyneside: Michelle Fox, who was elected for the Labour Party in Weetslade ward, has left the party. She has formed a Community Independents group with fellow ex-Labour councillors Cath Davis (Preston ward), Val Jamieson (Killingworth ward) and Gary Madden (Wallsend ward).
- Swindon: David Martyn, who was elected for the Conservatives in Wroughton and Wichelstowe ward but has left it before, is once again outside the group and sitting as an Independent councillor.
- Tunbridge Wells: Raymond Moon, who was elected for the Labour Party in Paddock Wood West ward, has left the party group and is sitting as an Independent councillor.
New vacancies
- Colchester: Highwoods ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Catherine Bickersteth. Term ends May next year.
- Kirklees: Batley East ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Fazila Loonat. Term ends May next year.
- Manchester: Brooklands ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Julia Baker Smith. Term ends May next year.
Dates for byelections
- Barking and Dagenham: The byelection due in Mayesbrook ward will be held on 14 September.
- Caerphilly: The byelection due in Penmaen ward will be held on 31 August.
- Derbyshire: The byelection due in Swadlincote South division will be held on 31 August.
- Herefordshire: The byelection due in Golden Valley South ward will be held on 7 September.
- Kirklees: The byelection due in Batley East ward will be held on 31 August.
- Spelthorne: The byelection due in Ashford Town ward will be held on Wednesday 6 September.
