The scheduled 2025 elections were postponed to 2026, and the Secretary of State intends to postpone them for a further year. Sam Adeniji (Seaford North) moved from Independent to Reform UK in January 2026. Reform UK gained Ashdown and Conquest from the Conservatives at a byelection on 20 November.
