The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.

Results

  • Basildon: The byelection in Pitsea North West ward held on 29 July was won by Stuart Terson. Conservative gain from Labour.
  • Bassetlaw: The byelection in East Retford South ward held on 29 July was won by Mike Introna. Conservative gain from an Independent who was elected for Labour.
  • Harrogate: The byelection in Knaresborough Scriven Park ward held on 29 July was won by Hannah Gostlow. Liberal Democrat gain from Conservative.
  • Norfolk: The byelection in Gaywood South division held on 29 July was won by Rob Colwell. Liberal Democrat gain from Conservative.
  • South Tyneside: The byelection in Fellgate and Hedworth ward held on 29 July was won by Jay Potts. Labour gain from an Independent.

  • Bolton: Bromley Cross ward, after the death of Conservative councillor and Leader of the Council David Greenhalgh. Term ends 2022.
  • Falkirk: Falkirk South ward, after the resignation of veteran Labour councillor and former Provost Pat Reid. Term ends 2022.
  • South Tyneside: Cleadon and East Boldon ward, after the disqualification of Independent Conservative councillor Jeff Milburn who received a suspended prison sentence. He was elected as a Conservative. Term ends 2022.
  • Walsall: Pleck ward, after the death of Labour councillor Harbans Singh Sarohi. Term ends 2022.

  • Calderdale: The byelection due in Park ward will be held on 2 September.
  • Calderdale: The byelection due in Ryburn ward will be held on 2 September.
  • Cheshire East: The byelection due in Wilmslow Dean Row ward will be held on 2 September.
