The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
- Cambridge: The byelection in King’s Hedges ward held on 4 July was won by Mohamed Delowar Hossain. Conservative gain from Labour.
- Kent: The byelection in Maidstone Central division held on 6 July, was won by Chris Passmore. Liberal Democrat hold.
- South Lanarkshire: The byelection in East Kilbride West ward held on 6 July was won by Kirsty Williams. Labour gain from Scottish National Party.
Changes of allegiance
- Kent: Alan Marsh, who was elected for the Conservatives in Herne Village and Sturry division, has had the Conservative whip removed.
- Maidstone: A new Fant and Oakwood Independents group has been formed by two councillors who were elected for the Labour Party. They are Patrick Coates and Paul Harper, both of whom represent Fant ward.
- North Northamptonshire: King Lawal, who was elected for the Conservative Party in Brickhill and Queensway ward, has had the whip suspended.
- North Yorkshire: Three councillors who were elected as Independents have designated themselves as ‘Conservative and Independent’ and allied with the Conservative group. They are Caroline Goodrick (Sheriff Hutton and Derwent division), Robert Heseltine (Skipton East and South division) and Andrew Williams (Ripon Minster and Moorside division) – who was previously in the North Yorkshire Independent group.
New vacancies
- Bristol: Bishopston and Ashley Down ward, after the impending resignation of Green Party councillor Lily Fitzgibbon. Term ends 2024.
- Chorley: Croston, Mawdesley and Euxton South ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Keith Iddon. Term ends 2024.
- Lancashire: Chorley Rural West division, after the death of Conservative county councillor Keith Iddon. Term ends 2025.
- North Somerset: Wrington ward, after the impending resignation of Independent councillor Steve Hogg, who is moving out of the area. Term ends 2027.
- Suffolk: Woodbridge division, after the death of Liberal Democrat county councillor Caroline Page. Term ends 2025.
- Wolverhampton: Bushbury South and Low Hill ward, after the death of the council leader Ian Brookfield, who was a Labour councillor. Term ends 2024.

- Havering: The byelection due in Upminster ward will be held on 10 August.
- Middlesbrough: The byelection due in Ayresome ward will be held on 17 August.
- Somerset: The byelection due in Castle Cary division will be held on 10 August.
- Wychavon: The byelection due in Evesham South ward will be held on 10 August.
Other updates
- Kirklees: Fazila Loonat, a Labour councillor for Batley East ward, has been sentenced to 14 weeks’ imprisonment. She will be disqualified as a councillor unless an appeal against verdict or sentence is successful.
