The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.

Changes of allegiance

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole: Julie Bagwell, who was elected for the Poole People in Hamworthy ward but left the party in October last year to sit as an unaligned councillor, has ceased to support the ruling coalition.
Doncaster: George Derx, who was elected for the Labour Party in Stainforth and Barnby Dun ward but left the party last week, has joined the Yorkshire Party.
Edinburgh: Derek Howie, who was elected for the Scottish National Party in Liberton / Gilmerton ward but left the party in July to sit as an Independent, has joined the Scottish Green Party. He will remain an Independent councillor but will work closely with the Green group.
Moray: Amy Taylor, who was elected for the Scottish National Party in Heldon and Laich ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
Stoke-on-Trent: Two councillors have left the City Independent group to sit as non-aligned, in support of the Conservative minority administration. They are Melanie Baddeley (Abbey Hulton and Townsend ward) and Jackie Barnes (Springfields and Trent Vale ward) who is also Lord Mayor.

Eilean Siar: Na Hearadh agus Ceann a Deas Nan Loch ward, after the resignation of Independent councillor Finlay Cunningham. Term ends 2022.
Mid Devon: Castle ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Irene Hill. Term ends 2023.
Norwich: Thorpe Hamlet ward, after the resignation of Independent councillor Nigel Utton who had been elected for the Green Party. His term had been extended to May next year so no byelection will be held.
South Lakeland: Broughton and Coniston ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Anne Hall. Term ends 2022.
South Lakeland: Grange ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Eric Morrell. Term ends 2022.
South Lakeland: Kendal Rural ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Anne Hutton. No byelection will be held as her term was extended to next May.

In England, all current vacancies which do not fill a term ending in 2021 will be held on 6 May 2021, the ordinary day for local elections. In Wales, all byelections will be held in a period between 1 February and 16 April 2021.
Eilean Siar: The byelection due in Na Hearadh agus Ceann a Deas Nan Loch ward will be held on 8 October.

Mid Devon: After a vote in full council in which the Liberal Democrats supported a different future for the Greater Exeter Strategic Plan to the one put forward by Independent council leader Bob Deed, the Liberal Democrat members of the cabinet have been dismissed and the Independents have formed a coalition with the Conservative group. The Green Party remains part of the administration.
Northumberland: A meeting of the council on Wednesday passed a motion of no confidence in council leader Peter Jackson, who has accordingly left office. The motion seems not to have been in the terms required to remove the entire administration so the council remains under minority Conservative control.
Stoke-on-Trent: Following the defection last week, the council leader has dismissed the remaining City Independent members on the Cabinet and formed an entirely Conservative admininstration (which is short of a majority).
