North East Derbyshire

Independent Group 3. Wraps around the south, west and north of Chesterfield, and was formerly a centre of coalmining. Includes Clay Cross where the council members were surcharged for refusing to implement council house rent rises in 1973.

The Conservatives gained Clay Cross North from Labour at a byelection on 10 October. Heather Liggett (Shirland) moved from Conservative to Independent in July 2024.
