North East Derbyshire Independents 4, Independent Group 2 (the Green Party councillor also sits in this group). Wraps around the south, west and north of Chesterfield, and was formerly a centre of coalmining. Includes Clay Cross where the council members were surcharged for refusing to implement council house rent rises in 1973.

Carolyn Renwick (Ridgeway and Marsh Lane) moved from Conservative to Reform UK in May 2026. Heather Liggett (Shirland) and Jessica Stokes (Clay Cross North) moved from North East Derbyshire Independent to Reform UK in May 2026. Mark Foster (Coal Aston) moved from Conservative to ungrouped Independent in February 2026, to Reform UK in May 2026.
