North Derbyshire market town, famous for the twisted spire on the parish church. Once the centre of a mining area and still based on manufacturing.

The government proposes to merge the council with Bolsover, Derbyshire Dales, High Peak, North East Derbyshire and part of Amber Valley to create a unitary North Derbyshire council in 2027. Reform UK gained two seats in Staveley North at a byelection on 7 May, one from Labour and the other from Liberal Democrats.
