The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.

Elections postponed

  • Royal Assent was given to the Coronavirus Act on Wednesday, bringing a temporary halt to any election process. The local elections which had been due on 7 May 2020 are all postponed to 6 May 2021, with current terms of office extended to match. Byelections may not take place until the Secretary of State authorises them. Council meetings are continuing, with regulations expected in the next few days which will authorise remote attendance by councillors, and it will be business as usual for this site.
