East Riding of Yorkshire: Paul Lisseter, who was elected for the Conservatives in East Wolds and Coastal ward, has been expelled from the local party and is sitting as an Independent councillor. His expulsion was prompted when he criticised the council’s planning policy while appearing as a witness at a public inquiry.
Redbridge: Robin Turbefield, who was elected for the Conservatives in Bridge ward, has joined Reform UK over his disagreement with handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sandwell: Two Labour councillors have left the party to sit as Independent councillors. The first was former leader Yvonne Davies (Langley ward), who was followed by Joanne Hadley (Great Bridge ward).

Caerphilly: Aber Valley division, after the impending resignation of Plaid Cymru councillor Lyndon Binding. Term ends 2022.
North Tyneside: Camperdown ward, after the death of veteran Labour councillor Ray Glindon (husband of local MP Mary Glindon). Term ends 2023.
Torfaen: Blaenavon division, after the resignation of Labour councillor Alan Jones. Term ends 2022.
