Meanwhile Michael Cullen, elected for the Scottish National Party in Garscadden/Scotstounhill ward, has left the party after confirming he is facing criminal charges.

Dates for byelections
In England, all current vacancies which do not fill a term ending in 2021 will be held on 6 May 2021, the ordinary day for local elections. In Wales, all byelections will be held in a period between 1 February and 16 April 2021.
Other updates
Crawley: The Conservative group has indeed put down a motion of no confidence for the full council on 15 July, seeking to remove the Labour leader due to the party losing its majority by defection. Meanwhile the party leaders are to meet to discuss a coalition.
